The publishing office of authors’ works “Publishing Office MicRec” was established in 1998 with the aim to administer and to popularize, the works of authors living in Latvia, to the world. The founders of the publishing office are the musician and song writer Guntars Račs, and professional journalist and the chairman of the company “Mikrafona Ieraksi” Elita Mīlgrāve. In the music industry the publisher of music is responsible for the use of authors’ works according to the law, the publisher issues a licence to the users of music and takes care that the authors’ works represented by it are used on a large scale. The publisher searches for new ways of where to popularize these works, licensing them to advertisements, films, telecasts, videogames and others. The main aim of the company is to popularize the works of Latvian authors in foreign countries. At the time, we are the only company in the Baltics, which represents one of the world’s largest publishing companies. Since 1998 we represent the interests of authors of “EMI Music Publishing” in the Baltic States and EMI are the publishers of our authors’ works in the world. Since 2013 our partners are also “Sony Music/ATV”. In 2009 the “Publishing Office MicRec” was admitted into membership of the ICMP - International Confederation of Music Publishers. In our catalogue of authors’ works you will find all songs of such composers and song writers as Raimonds Pauls, Uldis Stabulnieks, Lauris Reiniks and Mārtiņš Freimanis, as well as compositions performed by Prāta Vētra (Brainstorm), bet bet, Tumsa, Līvi, Jānis Lūsēns, Aisha, Andris Ērglis, Aija Andrejeva, Igo, Liene Šomase, Normunds Rutulis and many others.
