Bio

Igo (real name Rodrigo Fomins) born in 1962 in Liepaja, Latvia. Igo is the singer of rock, pop and other genres; also a poet and composer. He has got an education as violinist, singer and as director. Igo performs since 1978 and has worked in bands, such as: “Corpus”, “Liepajas kvartets”, “Livi”, “Remix”, “Riga”, “Liepajas brali”. At present he gives concerts as solo artist and collaborates with different staffs of musicians. Igo is the winner and laureate of national and international vocal competitions, has released solo albums, CD and DVD recordings with bands: Livi, Remix, R.A.P., DAS isT. He collaborates with different artists, such as: Ieva Akurātere, Ieva Kerevica, Ivo Fomins, Andris Erglis and other solo artists. He has released several singles in Latvian, Russian and English languages. Igo has a long-term collaboration with composers, such as: Raimonds Pauls, Zigmars Liepins, Aivars Hermanis, Janis Strazds, Valts Puce, Rolands Udris and others. Igo has performed in opera productions and has got the leading part in rock-operas, such as: “Lāčplēsis”, “Parizes Dievmates katedrāle”, “No rozes un asinīm”, as well as in different musicals. Has made broadcasts in Latvian radio stations, also the founder and owner of the music club U.T.T in Liepāja. Igo is the organizer of cultural life in Jūrkalne, Kuldīga, and Riga and in other places, has published 3 books of poetry and prose with his own graphics and illustrations. He sings in Latvian, Russian, English and German languages and has performed in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Uzbekistan, Belgium, Luxembourg, Greece, USA.
