{"id":3074,"date":"2025-11-23T21:46:44","date_gmt":"2025-11-23T21:46:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/musiclatvia.lv\/2025\/11\/23\/latvian-band-ryga-gets-shortlisted-for-grammy-award\/"},"modified":"2025-11-23T21:46:44","modified_gmt":"2025-11-23T21:46:44","slug":"latvian-band-ryga-gets-shortlisted-for-grammy-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/musiclatvia.lv\/en\/latvian-band-ryga-gets-shortlisted-for-grammy-award\/","title":{"rendered":"LATVIAN BAND &#8220;RYGA&#8221; GETS SHORTLISTED FOR GRAMMY AWARD."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the first time in 58 years of Grammy awards history, works of Latvian artists are eligible for consideration to be nominated for the Grammy among 21000 other records from all around the world. <\/p>\n<p>Because of this, year 2015 is the first when Latvian company \u201cMikrofona ieraksti\u201d is submitting its artists for the prize and one of them \u2013 band \u201cRyga\u201d featuring American singer Corey Andrew with their single \u201cGive Me Your Love\u201d \u2013 is shortlisted for the award in category \u201cBest Dance Recording\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Although the rules of the Academy voting forbid to publish full list of shortlisted artists, it\u2019s known that in total there are 240 records shortlisted for the award, most of which are made by some of the biggest names in the genre like The Chemical Brothers, The Prodigy, Royksopp feat. Robyn, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and Armin Van Buuren among others. Best five out of them who\u2019ll have received the most votes from the jury and will be nominated for the prize will be announced in the beginning of December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGive Me Your Love\u201d was released in June 2015 and since has received a lot of airplay not only in Latvia, but also in Scandinavian, German, Polish, Ukrainian, Danish, Netherland, English and American clubs and radio stations.
