Dons started his musical journey in 2003 when he joined the first Latvian reality show for new talents “The Talent Factory”, since graduating from it he’s been one of the brightest pop musician in Latvia, both as an artist and author. Right after the show Dons realized an album with his partner Lily, which brought recognition to both of them. After three years of working together their creative paths parted, Dons released his solo album “Lights out” that received positive reviews from critics and acknowledgment that he has become a mature musician. In 2008 Dons started to work together with the author of lyrics Ingus Bērziņš and his second album „Lelle” (A doll) in Latvian was created. Thanks to the profound lyrics of “Lelle”, the album quickly got popular and won the nomination of The Best Rock Album in The Latvian Music Award 2008. The success of the album also proved once again that Latvian public want to hear music only in Latvia. After “Lelle” Dons took part in the competitions for young singers “New Wave” where he got 4th place, after that he joins an adventure expedition “1000 miles over the Arctic Circle” to India. The experience that Dons had in India made him keep looking further and he becomes a world citizen. In 2012 he returned to Latvia and released single “Signāls” (A Signal), which rapidly gained wide public recognition and popularity on radios. This single marked speedy professional and musical growth, in 2013 the album “Signāls” was released and Dons triumphed in The Latvian Music Award 2008 receiving three awards. A new album “Varanasi” was released in 2014, six sold out concerts in “Palladium” venue and acoustic tour in Latvia followed. The sales of “Varanasi” gained the Golden Disc status in less than 3 months and set another record of the Latvian pop music.
