Aija Andrejeva is a singer and songwriter who made her first steps on the big stage while still sitting in the arms of her dad Alex, the vocalist of the legendary Latvian hard rock band Opus Pro. Aija has grown up with the music of Guns N’Roses and Metallica, no wonder her first studio album “Tu un Es” was recorded in the same genre and her first music inspiration came from the performances of Janis Joplin. Aija’s musical career includes collaboration with such composers as Raimonds Pauls, Mārtiņš Brauns, Valts Pūce, Jānis Lūsēns, Uldis Marhilēvičs and Kārlis Lācis. Aija has fulfilled the dream of participating in a musical – she plays the leading part in Liepāja’s theatre award winning musicale “Pūt, vējiņi” (Blow, the wind), tried her skills as songwriter while recording a studio album “Grāmatzīme” (2012) and finally turned to a more lyrical, delicate and semantic form of sound and text indulging in the music written by Kārlis Lācis and sensual texts by poet Māra Zālīte in her album “Mežā” (2014) and “Ziedonis.Lācis.Sievietes.”(2012). Aija has always been extremely persistent and has searched for improvement and challenges when choosing a project to take part in and has become one of the most vivid Latvian singers.
