Igo (real name Rodrigo Fomins) was born in 1962 in Liepaja, Latvia. Igo is a singer of rock, pop and other genres and also is a poet and a composer. Igo has a degree of a violinist, singer and director. As a singer Igo performs since 1978 and has been part of the bands Corpus, Liepajas kvartets, Livi, Remix, Riga, Liepajas brali. Nowadays Igo performs as a solo artist and collaborates with different musicians.

There are many national and international competitions and awards Igo has won, he has released solo albums as well as CD’s and DVD’s with bands Livi, Remix, R.A.P. and DAS isT and has collaborated with many famous Latvian artists, such as Ieva Akurātere, Ieva Kerevica, Ivo Fomins, Andris Erglis and others. He sings in Latvian, Russian, German and English languages.

 

Igo has a long-term collaboration with composers Raimonds Pauls, Zigmars Liepins, Aivars Hermanis, Janis Strazds, Valts Puce, Rolands Udris and others. Also, Igo has played leading parts in some of the best Latvian rock-opera productions such as “Lāčplēsis”, “Parizes Dievmates katedrāle”, “No rozes un asinīm”, as well as he has taken part in different musicals. Apart of being one of the most recognized Latvian musicians, Igo has made broadcasts in Latvian radio stations and is the founder and owner of the music club U.T.T in Liepāja. At the moment Igo organizes different types of cultural events in Jūrkalne, Kuldīga, and Riga and has published 3 books of poetry and prose with his own graphics and illustrations. Igo has performed in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Germany, Austria, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Uzbekistan, Belgium, Luxembourg, Greece USA.
