Formed in 2005, Mona De Bo is Latvian experimental rock duo, consisting of guitarist Edgars Rubenis and drummer Edgars Eihmanis. The band not only has performed in the neighboring countries, but also played at SXSW Music Conference in Austin, TX in 2008, from where BBC’s Tom Robinson blogged: „..and at its best, it takes the breath away. With the help of long delay effects, looping, distortion, detuned bottom strings and sheer virtuoso technique Edgars Rubenis’s guitar sound like an entire band on its own”. The duo’s third studio album „Pag Pag” was released in January 2012. „Pag Pag” was recorded in the Reformed Church’s studio in Riga during summer 2010.
The duo’s founding members Edgars Rubenis (guitar) and Edgars Eihmanis (drums) were joined by wind-instrumentalists and other guest musicians. In March 2012 the band played their biggest concert so far at Palladium venue in Riga and won over the audience of music industry delegates in Tallinn Music Week conference in Tallinn, Estonia. During the summer of 2012 Mona De Bo also performed in Lithuania, Russia and the Netherlands.
